Imperialism is an institution under which one

nation asserts the right to seize the land or at least to

control the government or resources of another people.

Iraq's oil fields are the second largest on Earth
and have the largest unexplored fields anywhere.

"Let's look at it simply. The most important difference between North Korea and Iraq is that economically, we just had no choice in Iraq. The country swims on a sea of oil." *
US deputy defense secretary, Paul Wolfowitz, in Singapore, 31 May-1 June, 2003

"...for reasons that have a lot to do with the US government bureaucracy, we settled on the one issue that everyone could agree on: weapons of mass destruction."
Paul Wolfowitz, Vanity Fair magazine, May 2003

Badly Wounded In Iraq?

THE IRAQ WAR AND OIL

Iraq has the world’s second largest proven oil reserves. According to oil industry experts, new exploration will probably raise Iraq’s reserves to 200+ billion barrels of high-grade crude, extraordinarily cheap to produce. The four giant firms located in the US and the UK have been keen to get back into Iraq, from which they were excluded with the nationalization of 1972. During the final years of the Saddam era, they envied companies from France, Russia, China, and elsewhere, who had obtained major contracts. But UN sanctions (kept in place by the US and the UK) kept those contracts inoperable. Since the invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003, everything has changed and the companies have been scrambling to grab their share of the spoils.

The most controversial documentary since Bowling for Columbine! This controversial and arresting film offers an in-depth look at the actual arguments, speeches and spin given by President Bush and his senior advisors before, during, and after the Iraq invasion.

- Watch as they rely on rhetoric in lieu of hard evidence to justify a war.
- Listen to their justifications change to accommodate certain inconvenient and very relevant facts (such as the continued inability to find Iraqi weapons of mass destruction).
- Go behind the walls of government, as CIA, Pentagon, and foreign service experts speak out, many for the first time, detailing the lies, misstatements, and exaggerations that served as the reasons to fight a “preemptive” war that wasn't necessary.
Contains compelling footage of Bush, Rice, Cheney, Powell, and others painting a very clear picture of the distorted intelligence and “spin and hype” presented to Congress, the United Nations, and the American people.  Buy Now!

Bush Planned Iraq 'Regime Change' Before Becoming President  By Neil Mackay
15 September 2002: A SECRET blueprint for US global domination reveals that President Bush and his cabinet were planning a premeditated attack on Iraq to secure 'regime change' even before he took power in January 2001.

The blueprint, uncovered by the Sunday Herald, for the creation of a 'global Pax Americana' was drawn up for Dick Cheney (now vice- president), Donald Rumsfeld (defence secretary), Paul Wolfowitz (Rumsfeld's deputy), George W Bush's younger brother Jeb and Lewis Libby (Cheney's chief of staff). The document, entitled Rebuilding America's Defences: Strategies, Forces And Resources For A New Century, was written in September 2000 by the neo-conservative think-tank Project for the New American Century (PNAC). War is a Racket - By Major General Smedley Butler, USMC

Smedley Darlington Butler took his Constitutional vows seriously, repelling threats to America both without and within. Shortly after retiring from a lauded career, the popular Marine brought down a Fascist corporate plot to seize the White House. Concerned for the future of Democracy, Butler began to speak out against the venal motives behind many of this Country's Military actions.
Written during the Great Depression, War is a Racket pulls no punches against a corrupt military-industrial complex, eager to murder both foreign and native born children for the sake of profit.  [More]

The 10 Most BrazenWar Profiteers

The history of American war profiteering is rife with egregious examples of incompetence, fraud, tax evasion, embezzlement, bribery and misconduct. As war historian Stuart Brandes has suggested, each new war is infected with new forms of war profiteering. Iraq is no exception. From criminal mismanagement of Iraq's oil revenues to armed private security contractors operating with virtual impunity, this war has created opportunities for an appalling amount of corruption. What follows is a list of some of the worst Iraq war profiteers who have bilked American taxpayers and undermined the military's mission. [More]
